A Holiday Fund Appeal Sponsored by the Prince of Peace Lutheran Service Team and the West Maricopa Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Deadline for donations is Sunday, December 28, 2008 The Need: This fall Richard Root was laid off from his job as a cable installer because of the slowing economy. Before he could begin to receive unemployment benefits and begin searching for a new job, he ended up in the hospital with a blood clot to the leg necessitating surgery with subsequent damage to the leg. Following his recovery he will likely need to go through job re-training. He and his wife are currently supporting two teenagers and a two year old grandson. They are in need of funds to cover medical expenses and a couple months rent for their apartment until they can get back on their feet. Our goal is to raise $1,500 in donations with $1,500 in matching funds from Thrivent. The Event: A Holiday Brunch on Sunday, December 28 at 9:45 am in Gangsei Hall. Provided and served by Prince of Peace Staff and Thrivent Members. Donations welcome! DONATIONS TAX DEDUCTABLE: If you pay by check your donation will be tax deductable. You may make your check payable either to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church (and designate ROOT FAMILY FUND) or to the West Maricopa Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. |

Please help us continue this fundraising tradition for Prince of Peace Preschool by purchasing a tile for your child to paint this January. The children love looking in the breezeway for their tiles. In addition to having them put on the wall at school, children will also be able to create tiles to take home. We are also collecting donations for all the teachers to paint a set for their classrooms. Just fill out the form given to you in your child’s cubby or pick up a form in the office. Please note how many tiles you want for school and how many for home. The class that sells the most tiles will win a pizza party! All fundraising will go towards playground improvements for everyone to enjoy, as well as teacher seminars and education. Thank you for your support and please contact us with any questions. |
