The new Assistant to the Bishop for Advocacy for our Grand Canyon Synod is our own Teri Traaen. She will assume this role effective August 1, 2007 and will work closely with all members of the Grand Canyon Synod on the social justice issues facing our community and our Lutheran Congregations.
Teri is the owner of her own human resources management firm Traaen & Associates, LLC and is very excited about blending her business and human resources management skills with the community outreach and advocacy needs within our community and the greater Grand Canyon Synod. Teri has been a member of Prince of Peace since 1990 and she and her husband Frank Morris were married at Prince of Peace in April of 1998. Social justice issues have a significance for both Teri and Frank. Teri worked in executive HR management positions in the public sector in Arizona prior to owning her own business and she is also an adjunct faculty member at ASU. Frank is retired after a full career as a Phoenix Police Officer and now teaches fulltime in the Administration of Justice Program at Pima Community College in Tucson. Teri looks forward to the challenges of this position and to working with the members of Prince of Peace to heighten our congregation’s work regarding the advocacy needs within our Lutheran community.
