Blast LogoThis is it, an exciting, creative, active and biblical program for Sunday School. This program is called B.L.A.S.T.: Bible Learning Adventure Stations. It is a program that is meant to help children build a relationship with God using a variety of ways. Since we learn in different ways, every youth should have an opportunity to respond and be involved in every session. Through this Sunday learning model we hope to reach the visual learner — where the eyes are the primary receivers of information; the auditory learner — where the focus is on hearing through words and music; and the kinetic learner — where touch and movement activities help the youth learn through active use of his or her body.

In this new Sunday School, the Bible is taught in centers. Through active and multi-sensing lessons Prince of Peace can reach more children in the way they learn best. For an active child there is the Game Room, and for the artistic child we have the Art Shack. Throughout the year each class will have a Shepherd (an adult) to guide them through the centers. This is going to be an incredible Sunday School for youth and teachers.

Rocket ShipHow does B.L.A.S.T. Sunday School work? Key concepts of the Rotation Model are:

  • The same Bible story or verse is taught in each center for five weeks.
  • Youth move each week to learn through various centers (art, drama, Bible games, food, science experiments etc.)
  • Leaders (teachers) volunteer for five weeks in the center where their gifts can be most effective.
  • Shepherds (caring adults) volunteer with one class and share each center with the class, take attendance, and encourage the youth to participate.
