Prayers From Scripture – The Psalms
Monday, June 21 – Wait and WatchGive ear to my words, O LORD; give heed to my sighing. Listen to the sound of my cry, my King and my God, for to you I pray. O LORD, in the morning you hear my voice; in the morning I plead my case to you, and watch. Psalm 5:1-3 Lord, I lift my heart to you. Help me to be aware of what you are doing today. I will carry some burdens today;
some trials will be mine.
When I wait for your help, I will not stumble and fall.
Tuesday, June 22 - Wisdom
Teach us to count our days that we may gain a wise heart. Psalm 90:12
Lord, help me to do today the things that matter,
not to waste the time I have. Convince me the moments I have are precious. Fill this day with your grace,
that I may rejoice all the days of my life.
Wednesday, June 23 – Goodness
I believe that I shall see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Psalm 27:13
Lord, infuse me with the ability to see your goodness all around me. Help me to believe in your goodness even when things seem dark and unmanageable.
Thursday, June 24 - Trust
Protect me, O God, for in you I take refuge. I say to the LORD, "You are my Lord; I have no good apart from you." Psalm 16:1-2
Lord, you are the ultimate protector. Give me the courage to put my trust in you today. Help me to see that everything good in my life is a gift from your hand.
Friday, June 25 - Restoration
Restore us, O LORD God of hosts; let your face shine, that we may be saved. Psalm 80:19
Lord, it is not hard to see that I am tarnished and need to be restored, this day and everyday. Strengthen me so I can be honest with you. Help me to reflect the light you will give me today.
Saturday, June 26 – Praise
Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD, O my soul! I will praise the LORD as long as I live; I will sing praises to my God all my life long. Psalm 146:1-2
Lord, bless my mind and memory,
my thoughts and deeds of this day. Help me to praise you wherever I go and whatever I do today. Remind me that you are good and worthy of my praise.
Sunday, June 27 – LongingAs a deer longs for flowing streams, so my soul longs for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and behold the face of God? Psalm 42:1-2
Lord, I love you and want to be near you. Enliven me today so that nothing stands in my way of spending time with you. Give me the deep satisfaction of putting my life in your hands yet again. You are simply awesome.
