Recently at A Place Of Grace, we have been learing about the the
six marks of discipleship. We have been exploring what it means to be a faithful disciple and follower of Jesus in today’s world.
It is the committed discipleship of God’s people that releases the power of the Holy Spirit in the ministries and mission of God’s church. When we are intentional about our own spirituality, it means we take seriously our congregation’s mission statement: “being and making passionate disciples for Jesus Christ”.
These six practices are:
- Prayer
- Worship
- Bible Reading
- Service to God and To Others
- Giving - Time, Talent, and Treasure
- Encouraging Others to Grow
You are encouraged to reflect on these six faith practices often. Share them with others. We are bold to say: “This is who we are as disciples of Jesus. This is what we do.” No apologies, no embarrassment, and no boasting. It’s just who we are as the baptized people of God. For in the grace of God, we have chosen discipleship.
I will strive to be a passionate follower of Jesus Christ who:
Prays daily
Worships weekly
Reads the bible daily
Serves at and beyond Prince of Peace
Relates with others to encourage spiritual growth
Gives generously with a goal of 10% and beyond
